Kevin Mayer, Director, Marketing Communications,

Kevin Mayer serves as Director, Marketing Communications for Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) based in Cherry Hill, N.J. Mayer oversees advertising, e-marketing, merchandising, product marketing, customer insights and brand strategy activities.

Prior to joining Subaru, Mayer held managerial positions for both corporate and agency organizations. Previous positions include SVP, Account Director at Dentsu Advertising, Director of Marketing and Product Strategy for Mitsubishi Motors of America, and National Manager, Corporate Strategic Planning and National Advertising Strategy for Hyundai Motor America.

Mayer has also worked for agencies such as Grey, Alcone and MARS Advertising. Additionally, he has served as on-site Marketing Consultant for the likes of Nestle’ USA and the Gillette Company specializing in advertising planning and optimization for the brand management teams.

With more than 16 years experience in advertising and marketing, Mayer has made numerous achievements, most notably leading the Hyundai Automotive advertising strategy (1997 - 2003) that quadrupled sales in five years and earned two Gold Effies; an honor for best national campaign for advertising effectiveness.

Mayer holds an M.B.A. from UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management with a focus in Statistics and Marketing Science and a B.A. in Communications from Purdue University.
