Your 2010-2011 PAMA Board
As we jump into PAMA's 2010-2011 programming year, I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the incoming Board of Directors and extend my appreciation to last year's Board and group of volunteers. Were it not for such ongoing commitment to PAMA and the region's marketing professionals, we wouldn't have had nearly as successful of a year that we had.
Last year was a resounding success for the chapter as we saw a full program calendar (over 23 education programs, networking events, gatherings and workshops for area marketers). Additionally, we launched a new and improved PAMA website and a new logo. In combination, these expressions have elevated PAMA to be that solid, staple presence in this ever-changing professional environment. Were it not for last year's Board NONE of this would have been possible and I'm proud to have participated with them in such a stellar year. I'm also pleased that the Board has returned, with some new faces but all in all, with many of the same players that were part of last year's success. So where I would typically thank the outgoing Board . . . there aren’t any; we’ve all come back for another round of leadership, planning and execution to bring the programs, resources and networking to help you excel as marketers. Let’s take a look at the 2010-2011 Board:
Matt Roberts - President-elect. Matt is a marketing strategist with deep experience in life sciences and healthcare, having accelerated the growth of companies like Techniplast with sound marketing strategy and execution. As a former MOTY award recipient (2 years running), Matt wanted to get more involved and give back to the chapter to continue being a valuable resource for marketing professionals to use in building their careers, skills and networks. Contact Matt via email at president-elect@amaphilly.org.
Brian Casey - Secretary. Brian is a Marketing Executive with a background in Consumer Finance and Consumer Services marketing in the United States and Canada (Wells Fargo ring a bell?). He joined PAMA and immediately got involved as a volunteer to engage with a broad range of marketing professionals in the area and share knowledge and ideas. Brian has spent the last year recruiting and coordinating volunteers and has recently assumed the role of Association Secretary. Brian can be reached at secretary@amaphilly.org.
Josh Miller – Treasurer. Josh Miller is a marketing and operations professional with a passion for evolving marketing trends and maximizing return on investment. Josh got involved with PAMA to be at the forefront of the latest in the marketing realm and to be exposed to marketing concepts not directly related to my line of work. Josh serves in the capacity of Treasurer, with responsibility for assuring our finances are kept on track and we continue to be able to provide the programming and benefits expected from PAMA members. Josh can be reached by email at treasurer@amaphilly.org.
Tiffany Bond – VP, Membership. Tiffany is one of those rare individuals that has served on the Board of another AMA chapter, having worked closely with the Puget Sound leaders to turn the chapter around and receive high honors from AMA nationally for their chapter excellence. Tiffany is currently pursuing her joint MBA/JD degree at Drexel and is responsible for driving membership growth through identification of high-value initiatives and member-specific benefits. Recent “thank you” emails to new and renewing members and our partnership with Qualtrics are the result of Tiffany’s efforts and if you have a membership request or feedback, please contact Tiffany at membership@amaphilly.org.
Susan Dykas - VP, Communications. Susan cut her teeth with programming last year and as one of our top volunteers, Susan was asked (and thankfully accepted) to take on a greater role with the chapter. In her day job, Susan is a marketing communications executive who specializes in working with small to mid-sized businesses to address their marketing challenges and leverage emerging opportunities. Susan got involved in PAMA as a way to network with colleagues, exchange ideas and experiences, and stay on top of current trends from both a b2b and b2c perspective. As VP of Communications, Susan and her committee are responsible for all outreach to the members and make sure the PAMA audience is well aware of programs, events and resources that each my find to be of special significance. If you have something to say to the rest of the chapter, contact Susan via email at communications@amaphilly.org.
Rasheedah Lane – VP, Volunteers. Rasheedah is the newest Board member and one that brings a fresh perspective to our efforts. Rasheedah specializes in the advisement and execution of marketing plans, sales strategies, and promotional products by design and she got involved in PAMA to expand her skills as a marketer, grow her network within the region and establish herself among the ‘marketing elite’ in Philadelphia. If you’re interested in volunteering with the chapter, contact Rasheedah at volunteers@amaphilly.org.
Janice Morrison – VP, Programming. Janice is a marketing research professional with expertise in customer satisfaction and loyalty work, brand image, segmentation, and product development acd across both service industries and consumer package goods. Janice got involved with PAMA to stay on top of new marketing trends and technologies affecting the business landscape. Her affliation has opened doors to many senior level executives and has broadened her perspective relative to the entire marketing mix and if you want to know what’s going on with PAMA, AMA and our joint special programs, reach out to Janice via email at programming@amaphilly.org.
Graham Ruffels – VP, Sponsorship. Graham is a direct marketing professional with expertise in creative, data, production and analytics for commercial and non-profit clientele. Graham's belief in the power of education and networking among the marketing community is deep and has led him to serve on both the board of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington DC and the Philadelphia AMA. In the roll of VP of Sponsorship, Graham works to ensure that the membership and its supporters have creative, effective means of sharing information via targeted messaging. If you’re interested in supporting the chapter and the region’s marketing professionals through sponsorship, please contact Graham via email at sponsorship@amaphilly.org.
Harry Shrank - VP, Collegiate Relations. Harry has 38 years experience in general management as a marketer and entrepreneur across a myriad of industries. He is currently a professor at Temple University, the faculty adviser for Temple Ambler's student AMA chapter, and supports the 12 regional student AMA chapters. Harry got involved with AMA as a marketing professor and student advisor to keep current with the developing and changing art and science of marketing and to integrate student and professional marketing activities. Harry can be reached at collegiaterelations@amaphilly.org.
Damian Stamm – VP, Technology. In addition to being a new father, Damian is a product, communications and information technology professional with over 10 years of experience in both the technical and communications landscapes. Starting his involvement as a graduate MBA student at Temple University, Damian remains involved to stay abreast on the latest initiatives in the marketing industry, constantly keeping his "ear to the ground" while engaging the great minds in the Philadelphia community. Connect with us on LinkedIn, friend us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter or “all of the above” by contacting Damian via email at technology@amaphilly.org.
And of course, there’s yours truly. I’m a product marketing and product management executive with deep experience in commercializing software products across the LBS, mapping, business intelligence and (now) healthcare IT markets. I got involved in PAMA to stay in touch with emerging marketing trends and practices and to make sure that I grew as a marketer well beyond what my immediate job responsibilities would consistently provide. If there’s ANYTHING that I can help you with please don’t hesitate to contact me via email at president@amaphilly.org.
Thanks for your ongoing support; we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
All the best,
Craig Barton
